Wednesday March 23rd: South Maumee

Weather: Cloudy and comfortable

Trail building is hard work!  Last night we all slept like babies, except for Dave who had to fight off raccoons from our community tent last night.  Apparently we left the garbage bag there... whoops.

The trail is looking good.  First you rake about 3-4 feet clear, then a straight line (flags set up) you would cut a 45 degree angle 2 feet with ~ a 2 inch drop and another 45 degree angle.  The landscape is hilly so we wanted the water to run off.

A quote from last night: "In town we pass Wild Bills.  I don't know how he got that name, he is more like Mild Bill." -Ken

After a delicious walnut/cranberry pancake
breakfast, we went up to Buffalo Point and hiked the Indian Rock House
Trail.  It took a long time to get moving so we didn't get to the trail
head until 1pm.

We were super low on gas on the way there and we
nearly ran out of gas.  We passed a station and tried to catch the
attention of Dave, Ken, and Rick to let them know to stop.  Fortunately
we made it to Wild Bill's Outfitters.
