After traveling for hours on the planes, trains, boats, and automobiles - we reached Askeli. Dina and Demetrius Taverna. We were not hungry and exhausted, but still chose to order a slew of food. The special Mezze consisted of Aubergine salad (eggplant), tzaziki,bread with olive oil, feta, tomatoes, a fried cheese ball, and something like phylo - ham and cheese rolled up and wrapped then fried. The greek salad was unreal. To try and put my first Greek meal into perspective is something short of impossible. It is close to trying a drug for your first time - a rush of dopamine and serotonin so strong that you cannot control the perma-grin on your face and the tingling in your fingers. Poros had already cooked its way into my heart and I had only arrived 10 minutes ago....
