The final chapter in our Argentina tour took place in the border town of Iguazu. Very hot, wet, jungle heat, blankets the town so we migrated into the hotel swimming pool to cool down for the first day while we mused if its worth paying extra for a guided tour or to just get on the local bus. On so many previous occasions we have been to visit touristy sights and watched tour groups being herded around the place with guides telling you where the toilet is and what time you will stop for lunch. Organised tours always seem a waste a money, you cant walk around at your on pace and explore. We decided to take the bus, it was 50p.

The falls donīt disappoint. The Garganta del Diablo or Devil's Throat is indeed Gargantua. A long time ago a guy started a tour company where he rowed slightly crazy people out into the river and you could get really close to the edge, only one day, maybe he didn't eat his weetabix, but he couldn't row fast enough and the whole boat plunged down 269 feet. No such tour today, now they have an amazing metal platform built up the edge.

The falls sound and look incredible, the spray soaks your clothes and camera. Water falls in from three angles and after you have watched in awe, there are another 270 falls to see. There will be some pics, eventually, our new camera is 10 Mega pixels and so the pictures are huge files. Most of these wacky internet cafes start up-loading but give me messages saying they will finish up-loading this file a week on tuesday. Need broadband.

Off to Brazil tomorrow for Carnival on the 17th and Kat's birthday on the 20th
