This is our third trip with G Adventures, our previous trips being Peru and Vietnam. This tour of the south west USA they call National Parks and Bright Lights and is described as; "From the Golden Gate Bridge to glowing canyon walls at sunset, this trip captures the beauty of the cities and wilderness of the Western US. It's perfect for the traveller looking to breathe in the scent of sequoias of Yosemite by day but wanting the comforts of a hotel at night. Prepare yourself for otherworldly 'hoodoos' in Bryce Canyon National Park and the desert scenery in Death Valley-the lowest spot on the continent-before taking an optional helicopter ride above the incomparable Grand Canyon. With plenty of inclusions like city tours of Los Angeles, San Diego and Las Vegas, you won't just visit the West Coast-you'll live it."

Day 1 - San Francisco. The meet and greet is always an anxious time in group travel for the travellers and the tour leader, ours brought his mum along for support. Dinner in Chinatown was time to meet our fellow travelers, 3 from Germany, one Brit and 5 Aussies. Next we were issued with our santa hats and introduced to our mini van/bus complete with Christmas tree and colored lights and tinsel; our tour leader Brandon was preparing his group for a Christmas on the road and away from families.

Day 2 - Our first day was spent seeing the highlights of San Francisco and then heading off to Yosemite National Park. Yosemite Bug Hostel, a pretty unappetising name, and raining to boot.

Day 3 - A beautiful walk in a Winter Wonderland, 2 miles uphill and back to see giant Sequioas. Another night in our Mexican inspired room with the dodgy bed.

Day 4 - Bakersfield is a hole. After 3 try's, got a room that wasn't strewn with squashed food, pills, unclean, stained and unlockable!
Thank goodness for the Cowboy bar - Buck Owens Crystal Palace. Michael made us lots of friends, including toothless Connie, singing Randy and dancing Andy.

Day 5 & 6 - Vegas, Baby! We hit town after dark and straight to a 1 1/2 hr limo tour complete with pumpin music and 3 eskies of vodka, gin, rum and beer. Stops were made at random showy spots for a dance or drink or whatever!
Hit the outlets for a Hugo Boss jacket, went to the top of the Stratosphere - 108 floors for amazing views.
The sheer opulence of the clubs and casinos has to be seen to be believed! Venice, Bellagio, Circus, Circus and the Mirage.
At night saw The Beatles Cirque du Soleil show LOVE, wow!

Nude Santas, its enough to turn you off your plum pudding. You sure are meeting some interesting characters during your travels. Love the photos, I am enjoying them as a slide show presentation.
Adios, John.

What a wonderful way to spend Christmas. You both look so great. The photos are just wonderful. It is a change seeing Santa without his red suit on. He is alot thinner than I thought. Love Di
