Pretty much all day on a bus, visiting a Buddhist Monastery, and later lunch at a seaside resort near China Beach.
Van Loi Hotel is great and a relief to know we have 3 whole nights here. Walked around town, checking out the recommended clothing and shoe vendors, visited the oldest Japanese house in the old town.
6 course menu - again impeccable, and home for  swim in the pool with a few of the other likely suspects.
Tuesday is shopping day, is everybody happy, you bet your life we are!
Sylvana and I shopped while Michael, Mike and Amir rode bikes, had massages and all met for lunch at the Banana Leaf. Bike hire is $1/day. Amazing pasta with aubergine and mushroom, and banana rum.
More shopping and fittings and home laden with bags, literally - Hmong bags, overnight bags...
Dinner and drinks at Before and Now, b4 a few hardy souls braved the Beach Club.

Wednesday - Brenda started the day by returning to the clothing shops for first fittings on her new clothes. She's in her element but wishing Laura was here to share the joy.Her tailor of choice has Jennifer Hawkins, the Prime Minister of Singapore and Bill Clinton as past customers and they can make you a high quality suit from your fabric of choice for $70 in a day!  Later in the morning we joined some of the group for a bicycle - boat - BBQ trip.  Took off through the backstreets of Hoi An and headed towards the the tiny avenues and fishing villages that make up the surrounding area. Great sights and a real pleasure to get away from the town traffic for a leisurely ride. Met by a traditional Vietnamese fishing boat, the kind that made their way to Australia post war and headed down the river for a rough BBQ on the riverbank. But the food - incredible as always and all cooked in banana leaves over a tiny charcoal weber. Its hard to remember an ordinary meal the whole trip. Final fittings this afternoon then group dinner tonight with a promise of karaoke from Dat who spontaneously breaks out into Celeine Dion or Whitney Houston when he has a bus microphone in his hand. Should be good but must behave a little because we have an early flight to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) early in the morning.

Dear Bren and Michael, it looks so wonderful, how the both of you tell us all about it makes me feel that I am there with you. I would love to go over there now more than ever. If I tell and show Louise about the clothes and the making of them, she will want to come with me. Cant wait to catch up with you both when you get home. i want to know everything. Jason cant wait to read all about it when the e-mails comes in. Love Di. xx
