After two days in Cusco, we are now in Ollantaytambo, a guapo little village in the mountains. Yesterday when we arrived there was a spinning and singing competition.  The girls we heard were high-pitched and sounded
Japanese in the Quechan language.
Had dinner in in a funky bar - The Blue Puppy with good music pumping. Had Chicken  Quesadilla to share.
This morning climbed Inca ruins - 300 stairs? Mummy holes in cliffs, adobe mud & stone
structures where u can walk thru rooms, see shower rooms with stream water running.  Mikes
amazed at the civil engineering and architecture skills of the Incas.
Altitudes not too bad as we are a bit lower - maybe 2500 metres, but stairs still puff us
out!
Looking forward to Macchu Picchu tomorrow - train this afternoon from Ollantaytambo to Aguas
Calientes (Hot Waters).
Maybe train back (switchback) and down the mountain to Cuzco again tomorrow night. Still
negotiating that.  The group want more time than 5 or 6 hours at Machu Picchu.
Off to buy snacks for the day tomorrow.  We get up at 4am to beat the tourists. Which we
arenīt!!!?
Cobbles are huge in streets - note to self - HARD soled shoes next time.
Channelled water running everywhere under streets etc from glacial springs high in the
Andes.
Traditional dress everywhere - very unspoilt.
