We packed, unpacked and repacked several times before actually zipping our light Rick Steves back packs shut, on the morning of departure. Checked the weather for the next ten days in Europe, and it looks to be in the low 60's but maybe rainy at times. We packed so as to layer our clothing. Ours each came in under 20 pounds. Seems heavier. The four of us are going "Carry-On".
Sarah and Ken were waiting for Zane and Cat. Both couples had each caught a flight to Charlotte North Carolina, the meeting place for the international flight.
Seeing familiar faces outside the usual spots is strange. You think... "Well, I KNOW you! I really do KNOW you. And here we are... and we're not in Kansas anymore!"
We had about a 2 hour wait before boarding our evening flight across the pond. The piano player was enticing, as the sounds of smooth jazz spilled out from his talented fingers into the atrium. Let's have a beer and a listen....
