Ok.. I have been very lazy updating these, if you're reading sorry!

Munich, Munchen.. somewhere in southern germany? Bavaria? beer sold by the litre stein.. ah yes its sort of coming back to me now!

Well I arrived here by a nice Austrian train and it was over a month ago so I dont really remember every little detail. Its a pretty cool city with a main pedestrian street running through the centre of the old town. Passing the old town hall, cathedral and the famous beer gardens.

Munich was a nice city to visit because it wasn't full of the usual tourist attractions (cathedrals, castles etc), its visited for the people and the city itself. My first day I wandered around to get a feel for the city and found myself in the huge Englischer Garten, which has surfing on the small river that flows through it!! and is also a favorite hangout for nude old german men... my que to head back to the hostel!

That night I bumped into aussie Kath who id met in fussen a week or so earlier. She was off on a pub crawl and invited me, but I didnt really feel like going, so I declined but we swapped email addresses.

I returned to the hostel and there was nothing much happening. I decided that maybe joing my 2nd pub crawl in europe would be better than an early night, so I got directions for where it would be and hopped on the metro. I went to all the bars it was supposed to go to but couldnt find any of the people in any of them. I ended up walking into some pub nearby and some german girl walked up and stuck a number on me and asked if I wanted to join a german singles night... I made an excuse and left!

But after not being able to find Kath I returned and bought a beer and joined them. I ended up spending the night with Alex and her brother Fritz and a heap of other germans and had a great night.. though I wasn't going to get up and sing with them!

The rest of my time in Munich was spent just wandering around enjoying the city, visiting the cities excellent technology museum - complete with space shuttle parts and jets.

Prost Munchen!
