Driving into my Mum's house, I could actually feel the butterflies in my tummy. That’s the thing about surprises you don’t quite know how they are going to go! For all we knew my mum might have been working, or out shopping or anything! Luckily we could see the lights on in the living room and Conor and I crept around to the door.
We knocked and then opened and shouted in a "hello!" and walked into the living room to be greeted by a screaming Mother and a sister who kept shouting “Oh my God! Oh my God!” and a brother who was jumping crazily going “I knew it, I knew it!!”. It was chaotic and fun all at the same time. Once Mum realised that it really was me, she bundled both Conor and I into the car and off to Nanny and Granda’s. I called Nanny from outside before walking in, both Granda and Nanny got the shock of their lives as they realised that I had come home and was not calling from Australia, but from the kitchen! Mum even called Denise, Corey and Shannon over so that I could “big surprise!” them. We were shattered so we didn’t stay very long, but it was nice to see everyone together.
Mum dropped us out to Conor’s house in the evening, and as we expected, Valerie burst into tears at the sight of seeing her first born son home safe and sound. Well I did promise that I would return him! It was an amazing feeling to be welcomed home with such delight and unconditional love. Tariq’s cuddle was the tightest of all!
I have loved writing the blog and experiencing all of the adventures we have undertaken on this trip, but now I realise with honesty that, my heart’s at home in old Ireland, Where? In the County of Armagh!

Sometimes the words of one girl in the world can be said in the same way as two men of the past!

I cannot rest from travel : I will drink
Life to the lees: all times I have enjoyed
Greatly, have suffered greatly, both with those
That loved me, and alone;
I am become a name;
For always roaming with a hungry heart
Must have I seen and known; cities of men
And manners, climates, councils, governments,

Ulysses. Afred Lord Tennyson

Since every man who lives is born to die,
And none can boast sincere felicity,
With equal mind, what happens, let us bear,
Nor joy nor grieve too much for things beyond our care.
Like pilgrims to th'appointed place we tend;
The world’s an inn, and death the journey´s end.

Palomon and Arcite. John Dryden

Now on to the next adventure... together!
