After saying our goodbyes to Shannon and Paul at Cairnes, we went to Port Douglas to spend a few days before heading off to New Zealand. Port Douglas is a cute resort town with a beautiful, large stretch of beach called the four-mile beach, which seemed like a wierd name since Ozzies use the metric system. But it was incredibly beautiful and we spent a good amount of time playing frisbee and soaking up the sun. We knew it would be cold back in Sydney (the city had gotten it's first snow since something like 1830) and probably even colder still in New Zealand. So we just enjoyed our last few days of warmth and sunshine before we head to the land of Mordor!
