We flew back from Surat Thani with Tony and Carol after a bus and boat ride back to the mainland for the flight. The plan was always to come to bangkok with them for the girls to get their shop on and to have a laugh on the Kho San road amidst the madness.

Tony was peckish before dinner on the second night so he decided to eat some bugs a street vendor was selling. The fact that he had been a little but sick earlier that day made no difference as he munched away on grasshoppers, maggots and some other sort of worm. He managed to convince me to eat a moggot but had no success trying to get the girls in on it. After dinner we hit a club on the Kho San till the early hours and Lou was delighted to get some free glow sticks. The simple things as a backpacker.

There was plenty of shopping (which doesn't strictly always mean buying, although your feet might need replacing) done in the MBK on both days. On the second day we soaked in the last of the Kho San with T & C over a few drinks from the street bar. Tony got beaten in a game of Thumb Wars by a girl selling roses on the street. The same girl who had called him a lady boy for not buying a rose the day before. Next came a lesson in how to play thumb wars and regardless of her tiny fingers she had some serious skills.

We headed out to the airport with them on the last night to wave them off. It was kinda weird saying goodbye to them while they got on a flight and we were heading back to the Kho San. It was great to have them over we jad a brilliant time with them and Lou was a bit teary eyed as we walked out to get a taxi. They'll be missed but we were hoping the madness of Vietnam miught keep us occupied for our remaining few weeks and soften the blow.

PS: Thanks for taking the bag home. Much appreciated.

Next day we found out it was gonna take the entire weekend to get our vietnam visas, almost bringing me to tears. 4 days we would have to spend here in Bangkok waiting so we changed hotel to a quieter area and decided it would be best to get some long overdue sleep and a long soak in the rooftop pool before our last bit of travelling through Vietnam and Cambodia.
