A little town situated on the west coast and on the banks of the large Wanganui river. They had a goat tied to a rope running the length of the riverbank at our campsite so we were warned no to pitch to close to him for fear he'd eat our tent. I told the lady that I didn't mind and joked that I loved a bit of BBQ'd goat with rice. She wasn't impressed. We left the next morning for gravity canyon and hopefully someone with a sense of humour.
