I would like to take this opportunity to introduce an incredible sister to all of the readers I have had the privilege to meet and work in service with.

Judy is a retired American sister who moved to Panama 1 year ago to live out the rest of her life and service career. She has been pioneering for... wait for it... 43 years! More then twice my age....

She is so bold and courageous in a way unlike anyone I have ever met. For example, her approach to the ministry is very direct, yet tactful and respectful at the same time. She is has not been learning Spanish very long, so she allows the bible to do the talking for her. She directs her listeners to hear the Bibles answers to their questions and helps them come to their own conclusion that the Bible is a practical and reliable source of direction for our day.

One quality I really respect about her is her determination. She has a  great reputation  for going in the ministry EVERYDAY, even if that means she has to work alone. She conducts multiple rural bible studies and travels around by bus when available, but mostly by walking. Keep in mind that the distances are lengthy and the weather only has two variations: scorching hot or pouring rain. This in itself would be a challenge for anyone, even in the best of health, but Judy has the additional trial of overcoming Cancer. After undergoing Chemo therapy, she has a very fragile frame and difficulty walking at times. If I had to sum Judy up in one word, it would have to be: Survivor.

I am so blessed to have met this faithful sister and thank Jehovah for the opportunity to learn from her. She is my neighbour, and when I am not preaching in Sign Language, I accompany her and try to support her. She forces me to speak Spanish, which I guess is good practice for me. She makes me say the prayer, offer the magazines or read the scriptures, which I am often hesitant to do... but if I keep on working with her, who knows where Ill be at 6 months time when I return home.
