Well...we are still here in Huntsville. We have a wonderful time here with Anne and Leonard. Yesterday Anne went to the doctor and got a pretty good report, her Lymphoma is presently in check...she does not need any further Chemotherapy for the near future...we were so happy for her that she is doing better. It was a rough go of it for several months for her. Anne is my mothers first cousin. They have been more like sisters since they were both only children so I have always been close to her. She and Leonard dated as teens in Halifax then he moved away and joined the US Military, and it was only 10 years ago that they re-connected and have been together ever since. Theirs is a true love story, they never forgot about each other and when the time was right, they got back together again.

Today we took a tour around downtown Huntsville. They have a park where they have a spring that nobody has been able to find the source. The park (Big Spring) has a great duck pond and a lot of very large Koi fish. Before seeing the sign that said "no wading" Steve decided to try to walk across a small waterfall. He almost fell, but was able to keep his footing and not fall over. We fed some very strange looking ducks as well as lots of Canadian Geese. We enjoyed our walk downtown, but talk about dead...we were only able to find one place open where we could get something to drink.

On our way home, Leonard took us to meet Wanda, the fish. We had a chance to feed Wanda - quite an experience.

This morning I took some time to take some more photos of the hummingbirds. Steve still has not had time to try to get me a video clip to put on line, but as soon as it is available, we will put it on the blog. I was able to get one photo where if you look closely, you can see seven hummingbirds. I also got some photos of some other birds like the Alabama Titmouse and Woodpecker. There is so much wildlife around the house here, it is amazing to just sit on the patio and watch it all.

There was even a spider that was the size of a brick - and while out at Costco yesterday, Steve and Leonard ran into a large spider...check out the photos.

Gonzo and Cocoa are doing great today. Cocoa was out earlier today having a little fresh air. Gonzo is still shy but came out of the room to check out the neighborhood.

We were reflective of Blanid and the family today. We are all going to miss her. Thank you to everyone who sent us messages.

This is the first chance that i have had to get to your blog as a result of my new course. Carol is finally home after a week of being away with her mother in Bridgewater.happy days... The course is tough. Went to dinner with mom tonight. She really picks me up; she is so positive. Sorry to hear about Steve's Aunt Blanid. What a blessing that you guys had that bit of time with her. Say hi to Anne and Leonard for me. You are right when you say that they are a blessed couple. Carol and I send our best wishes to you folks and hopes that the rest of your trip will be safe and fun as it has been thus far. All our love, Carol and Pat.
