Wow! We made it to Mexico! I must say, we have the best group of students ever! I was amazed at how well they handled the airport in Charlotte. (Which I saw on the news in Monterrey!) We made it to Atlanta in time and then boarded a smaller plane to go to Monterrey. The flight was only 3 hours and very smooth. When we landed in Mexico, and went to customs. I couldnīt believe that we were the only ones in customs. It was the strangest thing ever! Then our students filled out their forms and showed their passports to customs.  To our surprise, we got our luggage with no problems and then met our families in the main part of the airport. All of the families came with flowers, banners, signs, balloons, etc.....(you can see in the pics). Very impressive! The best part was that every one had already met each other in Charlotte, and they couldn't wait to spend time with each other in Monterrey. Roberto was said that this is the first time that every one has gotten along so well! The boys and girls (chavos y chavas) are all hanging out together! We then went back to our families houses and all met a couple hours later at the welcome party. The Ibarolla family had really gone out of their way and had all traditional mexican food prepared for us! It was delicious! The weather was absolutely gorgeous as well!

Today is Tuesday, March 20th and it is out first day of school! We all arrived here around 7:30 am and then had a quick tour of the school. It is a very busy day here due to the student council elections. All the PDS students are covered in stickers "Vote for Elisa"  etc. They just finished with their study hall and are now in classes for the rest of the day. I am going to try to upload all the pictures to this computer because our laptops do not work with their network. I hope that you are all enjoying a great break! We are loving Monterrey! It is soo americanized, that sometimes you forget that you are in Mexico! Everything is American! WalMart, Chileīs, Samīs Club, Home Depot.....even the cars are huge! SUVīs every where! Ok, I will get those pictures up as soon as I can figure out this computer!! Adios!
