Courtney dropped me to the ferry, and then that was that.  The end of the end and the beginning of the beginning.  Try to imagine every emotion you have ever had, now imagine having them all combined into one moment. That’s how it felt to leave Ireland.  I stood on the back of the boat and watched the emerald isle disappear over the horizon.  It’s funny that you complain about all the things wrong with the country but you don’t realize how much you love it until you leave.

But the ferry... wow, what a wonderful way to travel.  So nice to see off familiar places like Ringaskiddy, the naval base, and Cobh etc.  Onboard it’s like being in a reasonably posh hotel that rocks to and fro just a little bit.  It’s very hard to walk a straight line which makes everyone look quite drunk, funny.  There is a range of bars and restaurants, a cinema and a duty free shop. Plenty to explore and occupy yourself for the evening.  Later I watched the sun set into the sea, it was a very beautiful sunset, and probably the last sea sunset I will see until Goa (Christmas). The entertainment later in the bar was of a quality Pennys would have been ashamed of, so I decided to get some kip at about 10. I didn’t want to spring for a cabin so I was in a reclining seat.  Everyone was sleeping on the floor so I followed suit.  My last though was ‘oh no I’m never gonna get any sleep in here’... then I blinked and it was 7.15 in the morning and we were slowly pulling into the port of Roscoff... savage!! I hope I didn’t snore... actually no, I don’t care in the slightests.

So far my biggest problem has been that the enter key on my snazzy new netbook is roughly in the place where the shift key is on a standard keyboard, so everytime i want to capitalise a letter i instead feed a new line.  I really hope my life gets a bit easier in the near future cause i might just crack up otherwise.
