Here we are in our natural element enjoying the open air life of the campgrounds of South West Australia.  After very emotional farewells with Peter and Claire we drove back to Sydney and then flew out to Perth the following lunchtime (Sunday).  We had prebooked a site in Perth, which was on a bus route into the city.  Our campervan is OK, but not as nice as our own, even though it is bigger - one or two annoying features - but Colin the gadget man has managed, for example, to keep the table stable with the use of a beer bottle!!  It does the trick beautifully.

We spent three nights in Perth and thoroughly enjoyed the city sights, our favourite place  being, guess what, the amazing botanical gardens!!  They really are outstanding, featuring so many species of indigenous trees, flowers and shrubs in the most lovely layouts.  We are blessed to be here in the Spring as far as the plant life goes - the sea is still cold however!

Another day we took a boat into Freemantle, a very pleasant, smaller city with some lovely older buildings and an excellent maritime museum, for those interested in such things!  It was extremely breezy on the boat, but a lovely sail and views of multimillionaire homes.

On our way south we visited a Koala park.   I was determined to see them, but didn't manage a cuddle since we felt $25. was a bit steep on top of our entrance fee.  But they are just so cute.

We stayed at Mandura on Wednesday night, a pleasant coastal town with lovely beaches, and then moved to Busselton for two nights.  This part of the coast is so unspoiled.  The beaches are pristine and almost empty.  We've been into the Naturalist national park today up to the edge of the cape.  I can't manage to download pictures here, but it is real wilderness, we've enjoyed sitting on the rocks watching crabs and birds with the place to ourselves.

We've had some lovely blue sky days here though there is always a coolish breeze by the coast.  Today has been rather overcast, but pleasant enough.

Tomorrow we go on to Margaret River, which is inland slightly, and is vineyard country.  We are not driving long distances each day but just taking it slowly and enjoying a more relaxed pace.

Lots of Love.  Hope you are all getting ready for Christmas!  We are cancelling it this year I think!
