Hi cojack, Excuse me if I sound like an arrogant aussie, but the pipe organ that you described as being "very shiny" is one of the finest examples of this style of Baroque organ in the world. It survived the Communist era between 1946 until 1989 amazingly! The Catholic Church was despised by the regime. I have been to this church 3 times in my life, and it has one of the finest church music traditions in the whole country of Czechoslovakia and stretches back many hundreds of years. It was one of the only places where Catholics could worship in the repressive era also. You stumbled across exquisite history my friend! Brent Egan Sydney, AUSTRALIA
Thanks actually. I'm kinda clueless about this stuff and don't mind learning a little more. It was clear someone had spent a lot of time building it. But I didn't realize how much the communists went after religious artifacts. I had high hopes of going through and identifying what I saw after the fact, but that has fallen by the wayside and life has gone on. Now I know.
