So I'm in Minneapolis for my hour layover, just arrived from Anchorage. We actually had favorable wind conditions, so we arrived about 30 minutes ahead of schedule. The plane ride was fine, I guess... if you don't count the jackass who sat behind me who insisted on blathering on about the catfish he used to get and having 'hot dish'. A curious people, these non-Alaskans. It wouldn't have been so bad, but it was 1 in the morning and people were trying to sleep. As Sarah would say, Oh heavens!
So the plane I'm taking is an EMB 175. Not a plane I'd heard of before booking my tickets to Houston. It's a pretty small jet with only double seating on either side instead of tripple... I think. It says it's operated by Compass Airlines, but the livery is Northwest as is the gates and all employees.... Weird.
My first time inside a large airport that's not on the west coast... even though I really only get to see a tiny portion of it for a little while. I can now officially say I've been to Minnesota... though why I would want to brag about this is something my sleep-deprived brain can barely comprehend. The people seem nice enough now that the Starbucks is open and they can get their caffeine fix... and by them I mean GETOUTOFMYWAYINEEDAFRACKINGCOFFEE..... er.
Anyway, so... that was awkward.
So yeah, the airport is groovy. You've seen one jetway you've seen them all, I guess. I can only pray for no lost luggage and a decent flight time. I've not been gone from the state for 6 hours and already I miss my friends and family. It was all I could do not to start crying at the airport (hehe Rachael). During the flight I did fall asleep for about an hour and jerked awake when I thought I heard the tones go off.... it was only someone's PSP but I swear to god I heard our dispatch tones. Wishful thinking, I guess. Ah well. 30 minutes to boarding, I should get prepared, I suppose. Next stop: Planet Houston!
They will all kneel before Zod.
