No huge updates today - had a nice, lazy day after eight hours of sleep. I think that's the first time in years I've slept more than five or six hours - fantastic!  Must be a result of our fantastic Easter dinner.  I also got in an hour swim and a visit to the local Target (gotta love Target), and a great training ride.

Thought I'd write a few lines though, just to update on tonight's cycle.  Kathryn and I set out around 5:30-ish for a fantastic two-hour bike ride on the Foothill Expressway and Portola Loop, for a total of about 42 km.

Again, I want to move here...

The Expressway is a cyclists-heaven!  The road is lovely and smooth, with long rolling hills, and a three- to four-foot bike lane - it sure beats cycling on Bloomingdale Road back home!!  It's so fantastic, it makes you want to cycle even faster - I had a great ride!  Here's a picture of me (notice my Toronto Triathlon Club uniform!) And the scenery is amazing. Met up with another triathlete (who's in really good shape, by the way) en route, and after he eventually caught up to me (yes, he had to catch up to me after I passed him), he passed me and I tucked in and drafted off him for four or five miles, before we hit the stop light where I was wait for Kathryn before heading back home. Had a nice little chat and I thanked him for the draft - it was fun and exciting to be going so fast on such great roads, as well as keeping up to fast people! Yay me!

Tomorrow I'm off to the City, so hope to have a few more pictures and tales...

Best,
Kathie
