One aspect that has driven this over seas experience is seeing some history. New Zealands history you can see is only around 200 maybe even 300 years old. Well when Violet and I went up to Mesa Verde we looked around cliff dwellings that were built around 1200 AD.
These people had been a nomadic tribe and settled down in this area because of the good farm land, hunting, and water. They spent 70 years building these cliff dwellings and only lived here for another 70 years because there was a drought. The cliff dwellings were made from the sand stone in the area and clay mortar with a colorful plaster over the top. These people would rock climb to get up to the farms and use ropes to get there stores down to the cliff dwellings. If you want to know more check out this link. http://www.nps.gov/meve/historyculture/index.htm
Apart from that think pics will be better then writing for this blog post.
