These people had been a nomadic tribe and settled down in this area because of the good farm land, hunting, and water. They spent 70 years building these cliff dwellings and only lived here for another 70 years because there was a drought. The cliff dwellings were made from the sand stone in the area and clay mortar with a colorful plaster over the top. These people would rock climb to get up to the farms and use ropes to get there stores down to the cliff dwellings.
