Kay Marie and I are up at the crack of dawn - the weather looks OK - but I don't get my hopes up. We walk down to Old McDonald's reception and there we are - a bus is waiting. It whisks us to the dive site and we're assured that the dive is going ahead.
SHIT SHIT FUCK SHITE FUCK BOLLOCKS SHIT.
That might be the feeling I had as I realised there is now no turning back. Kay is already on the phone begging forgiveness of all she has verbally murdered in life and praying to be safely returned to her loved ones.
Basically guys the photos should say it all - so I won't rant on about it
I've a video of it all - but it takes too long to upload - so the pics will have to do for now.
Its the best thing I've ever done
The Day Begins
Amazingly the day has just begun - we get out DVDs, Hoodies and are picked up by the bus and we hurtle towards our next stop in Barrytown - a village of only 40 inhabitants. On the way, we take in spectacular coastal and mountain views as we ascend, descends and wind through the South Island Alpine ranges. We stop off at a seal colony and most impressively - just as the sun was going down at the Pancake Rocks and Blow Holes in a seaside village. The views of the sea crashing into the cliffs and the pancake rock formations (layered rock cliffs) were all just perfect in a perfect sunset.
The night is young after we arrive. We are to dress up in a fancy dress this evening in the only pub/hostel in the small town of Barrytown where the men are men and the women are strong men. Natalie's team is playing in the Super 14 rugby on Friday in the semis - so we've to dress up in our country or local teams colours. See the pictorial evidence of my take on Irish patriotism for more. We get sloshed and gossip and play killer - the pool game - which is crap as the bitches are there and, quite frankly, we don't like them.
Great day - great times - New Zealand is starting to pull ahead in the New Zealand v Oz stakes.
