Drove through more mountains and desert to arrive at Sossusvlei Lodge.  Again spectacular.  Welcomed by management with our drink.  Our individual lodges are half solid building and half tent with a patio overlooking the veld and the mountains.  Lorraine is on the other side of the creek but we have maintained the tradition of sundowners to wtch the sunset.  a little dissappointed that wild animals are not walking past the lodges but there is a waterhole within a 150 metres that has the local animal on display.  At the pool they ask you not to take wild game into the water with you???
Dined both nights under the stars and continue to be amazed at the hospitality and inexpensiveness of this country.  Drove to the red sand dunes of the namib desert walk hill 45, 350 metres up to take spectacular photographes (which will follow camera needs recharging).  Quick to come down if you take the side slope of the dunes.  Walked to a dead vlei (mud pan) isolated from the river 2000 years ago.  Studded with dead trees and bloody hot!!
Red sand hills stretch for 100 kms or more in all directions.  Went to a lake that had  a flamingo (lost) plus a few ducks.
