After a tour of Windhoek we set off for the Kalahari Desert.  On the way we drove through endless grass plains and acacia scrub.  It looked very much like outbakc SA.  We arrive at the Kalahari Anib Lodge to be greeted by our refreshing drink, better than you get usually.  After tidying up we set off in open jeeps for a game drive and sundowners on the red dunes.
Lots of animal included springbock, oryx, kudu, wilderbeast, zebra and haarts antelope.  We then arrive on top of a sand dune to watch the sun go down over the Kalahari.  The gin and tonics slipped down very well.  One of our guides spoke to us using the click dialect which an italian couple thought was a joke.  We explained to them that it was a language used by some african tribes including the san. (bushmen).  At dinner that night they gave us the menu in the same language.  Accommodation was excellent and again the staff very welcoming.
Our lot back home could well learn a lesson or two about enthusiasm and work output.  It is spot the white person over here.  Early morning departure 6.00am

Hi Guys. Arrived home last Monday in one piece. Think we came home too early because of the weather. So cold and wet. Sounds like you are in the thick of it over there and you are being well looked after. Just sounds so great. Gary is looking forward to watching his first Crows game tomorrow after 2 months. Hope they win for his sake. Travel safe. Love Les and Gary xxxx
