We dined at a little local restaurant where the staff were wonderful and the wine and food cheap.
As we landed in Windhoek after 26 hours in transit we thought there must have been a mistake. Apart from the Airport building you could not see any sign of habitation. It was like landing at Coober Pedy. The terrain was dry and arid, just like home. Our driver met us and travel for 45 minutes to Windhoek. He travelled at 120kms even going through the 40kms men at work section. Windhoek is not remarkable in any way. There were a few interesting buildings of Dutch/German Heritage. there were locals selling junk all along the footpaths and in the foyer of the shopping centres.
