So I'm driving and I'm coming up to Salt Lake City when I decide I'm going to title this blog as above. The O-T-T stands for "Olympic Town Tour". Now that I'm set up at the campground in Idaho and I'm about to start writing my blog, I decide to see what day and where I was when I talked about renaming my Journey, "The Olympic Town Tour". I can't find that reference by searching my whole blog. Could someone out there please tell me where I talked about renaming my blog the "Olympic Town Tour"? Maybe I said that in an email to one of you? I've searched all the emails I have on my laptop and I can't find it there either.

In case I am losing my mind and haven't written about this yet, here's the story. I live Calgary. Katrine curled in Torino, Italy. I made a stop in Lake Placid, NY. And today I went by Salt Lake City, UT. These are all places that have held the Winter Olympics. So that's why I was going to, jokingly, rename "Paul's Journey", "The Olympic Town Tour" or OTT for short. Somebody please tell me I'm not nuts. Scratch that. After everything else I've written lately some of you are probably seeing if I'll ever write anything sane again.

On a high note, my blog must be entertaining. The visitor count this month to date is almost at the point it was for all of last month, and it's not even the middle of the month yet. The only time it's been higher was in December when they had my blog featured. In December my blog wasn't as entertaining so that must be why the numbers dropped back to Novembers numbers in January. So forward my blog to everybody you know, even those you don't know, TV stations, news outlets, and talk show host. The more people who think I'm nuts the better. What nutty people have to say sells. It'll also help when my books and movie come out.

OK. So now that I have blog entry naming issues out of the way I have to talk about signs.

When I left Vegas I had decided not to write much in my blog until I got home. But hey! I'm allowed to change my mind. I do it all the time. Whenever I feel like.

A few people have made comments about not reading too much into the signs. Making things fit what I would like them to mean, more or less. But that's the thing with signs. They ALL...MEAN...SOMETHING!

How's that, you may be asking yourself? He made a total fool of himself with that outrageous story by misinterpreting that dream and all those signs. Maybe, Yes! Maybe, No!

There's never a wrong sign to interpret. If you are actually looking for signs then they all point you in the right direction. You might have to backtrack and start over, but now you know which direction not to go. I don't have, never have , and never will have issues with making mistakes. I make them all the time. How else are we going to learn? I don't play it safe. If I did, I would have locked myself away in my house last May when my health deteriorated and moped around until I died from boredom.

The guys in the bar the night Einav didn't show taught me something about signs. That night it was like I didn't exist to them. I was sitting between them and I wasn't there. That's how it is with signs. They are always there but unless you start looking for them they don't exist.

Songs are just songs unless you are looking for a sign. A movie is just a movie unless you are looking for a sign. The people you meet are just people you meet unless you are looking for an Angel. A Bible is just a history book unless you are looking for a sign. A Church is just a building unless you are looking for more. A job is just a job unless you are looking for a purpose. We can go through our whole life without seeing the signs if we do not open our eyes and start looking.

So you decide to start looking. Now there are signs everywhere. Which one do you follow? What if I get it wrong and take the wrong road? What if I screw up? So WHAT!

Go back to the beginning...do not pass GO (you shouldn't have to go to Jail-Monopoly humour)...START OVER! Try a different road. You might get further along the second time before hitting a "Y" and then not know where to go. So take the right side. If  you continue looking for signs you'll know whether you made a good choice. Because if you didn't then something will tell you to go back to the "Y" and take the left. So now you're not going back to the beginning but are further up the road. Every time you take a wrong turn further up that road you know which road not to take, and guess what, you're further up the road. Things get clearer. It might seem like it's a difficult way to go about it. Think of the options. Stay in a job you don't like or is unsatisfying. Fulfilling an obligation no one else thinks you have but yourself. Or whichever situation YOU may be in.

The thing with signs is that we see the ones that WE have to see. You don't see my signs because you are not living my purpose. You will see YOUR signs where you have to see your signs to fulfill your soul's purpose.

So NO! I don't think I misread any signs. The more signs I get wrong, the better chance I have of finding the right ones. The Journey becomes clearer as the days go by.

I've exorcized numerous demons throughout this Journey. I had to do that for my dreams to come true. My life has lead me here...including detours, roadblocks, u-turns and dead ends.

I take my chance every chance I get!  As sung my Mary Chapin Carpenter as I'm wrapping this up. (Isn't it great how the right song comes on at just the right time)

Think It! Feels It! Live It!

Love to all!

PS. Just to show how much of an idiot I am, here is something I've been thinking of the past few days. My sister Elaine's son Eric is going to University and works over the summer and, I think, weekends in the winter for Canada Customs at the Canada-US Border. So I've been thinking that, Oh, I'm going through Customs on the weekend, he might be working. I've been thinking of that for a few days when the light bulb comes on. I'm going through Customs in ALBERTA, not Manitoba. I'm such a blond! Hey! That's an idea. I want to get rid of my grey. I'll just bleach my hair. Wonder what I would look like as a blond?

Laugh out loud!!!
Eric IS working this weekend, but unless you're planning a huge detour, I doubt you'll be seeing him. Also, FYI he's been offered a full time position with Border Services starting in May, as soon as he graduates with his BA - double major in Criminal Justice and Conflict Resolution Studies.

P.S. - Sounds liks you're feeling better - good to read it.

P.P.S. - I've been keeping track of Katrine's curling results at the Canadian University Curling Championships - We're proud of you Katrine.

Elaine
