Towards Niagara Falls. I'm up early to get the leaky tire fixed on the truck before hitting the road again. The slow leak is from a 3 inch nail. Lucky I got it fixed before we got stranded on the highway. On the interstate's it's often very difficult to find a place to pull over. There's also so many construction zones that there are no shoulders to stop on. A shredded tire on my truck would have been disastrous as I have specialty tires that would be very difficult to replace. Wake Alexis up as I'm leaving for the tire shop and she insists I make sure she's out of bed as she might still be in it when I get back. It's too long a drive to Niagara Falls to get there in one day. Especially with the late start. Our luck continues with construction zones and other delays. We continue zooming along as I see slowdowns after slowdowns in the opposite direction lanes. At one point I think traffic was backed up for 10 miles in the opposing lanes. Today is a real scorcher. The temperature reaches a high of 37 with an average of 35 most of the day. At one point we reach the highest elevation on Interstate 90 (this highway crosses the United States east to west in all the northern states), with an elevation gain of 500 metres.  The truck takes the beating and we keep on trucking. The truck has been awesome on this trip. We get to the campground after 6. The guy in the camper next to us comes over to chat. He's from Denver on his way to Boston. He's complaining about the road construction and all the delays. I don't tell him the good luck we're having. Alexis makes some ravioli in the microwave while I'm resting. I hear a scream and the bowl falling. The hot sauce has burnt 2 fingers. She says she's OK, but later on it starts hurting. Out comes the first aid kit.
