The past 2 weeks have been difficult for a pre-teen on summer holidays. No sleeping in. I decided to give Alexis a break and told her she could stay in bed as late as she wanted. She stayed in bed until 11 am. We then went for a drive to Annapolis, Maryland which is on the coast, has a Navy training academy and not far from where we were. We did some walking and shopping around town, saw some nice ships (and a rowboat), ate lunch at Chick & Ruth's Delly (something you'd find in a backstreet of New York) then hit the coast for some swimming at a beach.
