I've said it before, it's usually difficult leaving a place and moving on. Usually it feels like unfinished business. This time it was difficult leaving someone.

Pranee didn't want to drive me to the airport. She never drives her friends. I said I'd take a taxi. We never decided last night. This morning came and she did drive me. We get to the airport. A quick kiss and she jumps back in her car and leaves. No goodbye.

I had told Pranee about the short transfer time between the Singapore airport and the Bintan Island Ferry. The plane was scheduled to arrive at 12h30 and the ferry was scheduled to leave at 2 PM. I still had to clear custom at the airport and then again at the ferry terminal. When I booked my ferry ticket it said to check in 2 hours ahead of time. This ferry ride is to another country. More time is required to check-in. Pranee thinks I'm cutting it close. Me? Nah, if I was meant to spenf the week with her the Universe will make sure everything works out.

I'm checked in at the airport in Phuket. Grab a coffee and muffin at a coffee shop in the main terminal. I start chatting with Benjamin from Texas but currently working in China. We're chatting when I notice that the flight leaves in 30 minutes. I better get to the departure lounge.

There's a long line to clear Thai immigration. Pass that and walk quickly to my gate as I hear the final boarding call for my flight. I'm the last one onto the plane.

The 1.5 hour flight went quickly. I was seated in the middle of 3 Russian couples and their kids. Arrive at the airport in Singapore shortly before 12h30. Clear immigration. Get my pack. As the pack is passing through the x-ray machine I notice the security employees back-up the pack a few times and examine their monitor. Something has caught their eye. Finally they let it pass. I grab the bag and feel a vibration. Now that is weird. I check the signs for the taxi stand. Get in line then realize that I have no Singapore dollars. Back into the airport to find an ATM machine. Get some cash and then still feel the vibration in my backpack. I open it up. I find that my electric toothbrush was on.

Back to the taxi stand. By 1h00 I was at the ferry terminal waiting in the departure lounge. Not bad! From the time the plane landed until I arrived at the ferry terminal I kept on looking at my watch. It seemed like time had slowed. The minutes advanced real slowly.

Thirty minutes from the time the plane landed to clear Singapore immigration, get my backpack, go to an ATM machine, take a taxi, check in at the ferry terminal, drop off my backpack for the ferry, clear Singapore immigration to leave the country, and then wait for the ferry. Yes, my life is amazing.

I have to spend more time in Singapore on my way back. 1.5 hours in a country when one of those is sittting in a departure lounge doesn't quite count as a visit.
