I'm going to recap what's happened in the past 5 years of my life.

I started thinking that I had to clarify a few things and that some of you might not have read all my travel blogs or might have forgotten some important details. Actually, maybe it's just for my own memory.

The first thing I want to clarify is my Dreams.

I've been talking a lot lately about my "Dream Girl"  and "she"  being someone famous, etc. To be honest, what I'm looking for in my "Dream Girl" is that perfect love. She doesn't have to be famous, etc,, but she does need to have specific physical, mental, spiritual and emotional characteristics. I am being very clear in what I am looking for. That's what I'm looking for. The famous criteria is something I added on to hopefully convince a few  people that maybe we can be specific in who we want as the perfect mate and that they do exist. Who'd believe me if I met that person working the Wal-Mart check-out line?

Next is my whole purpose in life. I talk about best selling books and movies about my life and award winning photographs. My Dreams are quite a bit larger then that. I truly and honestly want to make a difference in the world. Books and photographs do not define who I am and won't make much a difference to the way people live and see life.

I've spent all my life doing things for others. People have heard me describe myself as a Volunteer Addict. That is who I am. Me doing stuff for others. I really do want to see everybody in the world in a happy state. Is that too much to ask?

Most of you look at the current state of world affairs and say it'll never happen. The same was said about many scientific discoveries (man on the moon). We talk about a global shift in consciousness these days. I see it all the time. Awareness about the environment. The global offers of assistance after disasters (Haiti, Chile).

If we have arrived at a time in history where it is our minds that will control the future, then it is our thoughts that create the world we live in. So then, why is it so unbelievable that my primary Dream is to be part of this major shift?

In the past few weeks I've finished reading a book called the "Pyramid of Fire. The Lost Aztec Codex". The book documents and describes an ancient Aztec writing about the "Spiritual Ascent at the End of Times". People all over the world are talking about the year 2012 and how all these natural disasters will occur in December of that year to "end our times". This book documents how the year of "the end of time"  was calculated. It's quite enlightening.

I'm currently reading a book called, "The Bodhisattva Warriors", that describes the Origin, Inner Philosophy, History and Symbolism of the Buddhist Martial Arts within India and China. One paragraph I just read summarizes, more or less, where I am.

"Our reason for spiritual study should not simply be to overcome problems we encounter, be they practical or psychological, for this is only a reaction (not a response) to life. In resolving to follow the Dharma, we are trying to create the basis for an inner clarity and perspective. In the Mahayana such attributes are directed outward toward others in a selfless other-orientation. The root scriptures of all schools point out that the nature of Self is void. The Self does not lie in the heart, the heart does not lie in the Self. In this Self lies the origin of the World. To try to live life as a Selfless Being is one step on the road towards clarity."

So why don't I go join a Buddhist Monastery somewhere and become "Enlightened"? Well...that's been done by many and I find it a little self-serving. That path doesn't help the masses live life in a modern world. There must be an answer...a way. How do you wake people up to the realization that they DO create their life? That they DO have control over their fate?

It's been quite amazing the number of people who ask me about my car and "What? Is! inc." since I've arrived in California. People roll down their car window at stop lights and ask, in parking lots, and while driving I notice inquiring looks from pedestrians (and smiles from kids who just love my car). What do I tell them? Rarely the truth. You don't summarize what I'm all about in a 2 minute conversation. Photography. Writing. Traveling. All very small parts of the big picture. But those are the answers I give.

If I believe that everything happens for a reason and when the time is right, and I can see, most of the time, why certain things have happened in the past in the evolution of mankind, that means that events that are currently happening around the world are happening to assist mankind fulfill it's destiny. Most people don't see this.

But my brain doesn't function like most people's. I take all this information and I try to see what the purpose is. Earthquakes? Only going to get worse. Education cut backs in the US. Winter Olympics in Canada and the BELIEVE campaign. World economy. Scientific and medical discoveries.

It's ALL related to where WE are going! Or does it?

Have "I" created a world that doesn't really exist, but in "MY" mind?

Oh right! Forgot to mention a few Dreams of mine. Mentioned in the epilogue to my book about having six pack ABS. Not quite there yet but when I jog there isn't an ounce of fat jiggling like there use to. That ties into the perfect health goal/dream. You see, I run/ride with a heart rate monitor. It tells me at what intensity I'm exercising. I also have this health meter scale. It calculates BMI, body hydration and fat percentage, and muscle mass according to age and height. Forty kilometer bike rides and 10k runs for a guy diagnosed with
fibromyalgia/chronic fatigue syndrome and medical experts stating that
there is NO cure might demonstrate that I'm onto something.

And in the past few days I posted a picture of my Dream car. A $225,000 Spyker. Not quite along the line of World Peace, Global Happiness and International Harmony. But that's to show that we are allowed to spoil ourselves. If we do reach our goals in life that we can be frivolous in our requests.

to be continued...

PS. I've include a few pictures that I took on a drive along the scenic Idyllwild Panoramic route. A few weeks back I did the drive on my motorcycle. This time I tested the limits of my Mini Cooper, putting the engine, tires, and brakes to the test on the curving mountain road. Now that was fun. Illegal (somewhat). We all need to push ourselves to our limits some days. I try to most days.

PPS. Happy Birthday Katrine! My oldest turned 24 today.
