Where I stayed
I'm at my sister's in Nanaimo. She offered me a place to stay now that I'm homeless.
But why the rush to get to Nanaimo?
I've tried planning my life but things don't want to go the way I plan them, During this "homelessness" stage of my life I had set things up so that all my mail would go to my business PO Box in Calgary and that was also my legal address for my driver's license, vehicle registrations, etc, etc.
Then I had the issue with insuring the car hauler. Since my insurance company in Alberta wouldn't insure my trailer and was going to cancel the insurance on my truck I figured there was a reason the house possession was moved up 2 weeks, so that I could get my vehicles insured in BC.
So now I am an "official" resident of BC. Well, for vehicle and driving purposes. The business is still an Alberta Corporation and my mail is still going there.
The first few days have been dealing with vehicle inspections, changing the cracked windshield on the Mini Cooper, having side window tinting removed from the Mini, a few minor repairs on the truck. Those things done, I helped my sister and her husband out with some renovations they were doing on a house he owns with his parents and will be selling.
I left Calgary on Monday in the cold and snow. Was stuck there for a couple of extra days while the snow fell and it got really cold. The electrical system in my truck also went haywire. Ended up having to replace the alternator but it was one hell of a deciphering job trying to figure the gremlins in the system because of that. Nothing made sense.
As for the extra weight in the trailer? Did cause some issues during the drive to Vancouver, but overall the truck pulled the trailer quite well.
Always an angel looking after me.
