Sister's house

Today was my mother's 75th birthday. My sister and brother in Winnipeg organized a surprise party last Sunday. Most of my nieces and nephews were there.

Since the house was sold and most of the furniture gone, I figured why hang out in an empty house until possession date of December 18th, so I headed to Winnipeg for a couple of weeks.

I surprised my mom...and my dad. Nobody told them I was coming...it would have ruined the birthday party surprise.

Since my last entry I found the perfect car hauler and had my company graphics installed on it. If I'm going to drive around North America might as well do some advertising while I'm at it. The Universe/God came through for me one more time. Always does. I thought I had found the perfect trailer in Red Deer. The previous owner had installed extra attachments that were exactly where I needed them to attach both the Mini and the motorcycle. The problem was that the bank wouldn't advance me the funds until the equity from my house came in. What to do?

One day I'm driving down a Calgary street and see this other car hauler at a dealership. Stop in and take a look. The salesman mentions leasing. Yeah right! My credit rating sucks big time now. Went from where the banks couldn't wait to lend me money to where no one wants to lend me a dime. Told you I've hit bottom.

The trailer is longer then I originally thought I needed and had been looking for. But in the end it's perfect. The one I thought was perfect...wasn't. The Universe/God always knows what's best and makes sure I get what is perfect. The ramp for the motorcycle is on the right side now, not the left like most I'd seen. This is way better for when I'm in campgrounds and want to unload the motorcycle for a ride and not have to unload the car. I try getting my corporation to lease the trailer. Nope. Corporation is too new. Try it personally. YES! Miracles do happen.

Then I had some issues with the insurance company. Something about the trailer being for commercial use. Blah...blah...blah!

In the end, I get the trailer, have the graphics designed and installed, all in time to get to Winnipeg for the surprise party and 2 weeks of relaxation...NOT!

It's been a hectic few months since I got back from part 1 of this journey at the beginning of October. Non stop organizing for living out of a suitcase. That's not as easy as it sounds, especially when you're also trying to run a business. I figured two weeks of r 'n r in Winnipeg would be nice.

On the way to the birthday party I get a phone call from my real estate agent. The house buyer wants to move up the possession date by 2 weeks, to this coming Friday. I said I'd think about it. Yesterday I called my agent back and said OK. Back on the road to Calgary tomorrow. Out of the house by noon on Friday.

No rest for the wicked!
