In Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance the author, Robert Pirsig, makes a point for the cause of Quality. This "text message" version of his five hundred and some odd page book is how we must take care and have pride in whatever we are doing.

I saw that today. I walked around Cherbourg and ended up at the cemetery. There, we have buried the dead from the various wars. In one section we have hundreds of white crosses from those who died in World War 1. As I'm meandering through the various sections I notice two men working. They are repainting all these white crosses. One is going around with a large brush painting the white. The other is following behind, painstakingly outlining all the lettering in black with a fine tip brush. Care and attention taken to honour all those who have died.

There was a monument placed in the Second World War section that I have included the picture of. The rough translation of the inscription is as follows, "Remember for eternal memory of all the heroes who have lost their lives for France and for a better humanity based on Justice, Rights, Love, and Liberty of all the people of the World". This is a quick, almost verbatim translation of the inscription. I am rushing to write this before hitting the road again. My translation lacks Quality.

I also stopped in at a church where is situated the statue of "Notre Dame du Voeu ". I would translate this as the statue of our "Lady of Wishes". On the back wall of the church were all these "Merci" plaques. That is a word that I don't think needs to be translated. This ties in to the Law of Attraction where we have to say "Thank You" to the Universe to assist in getting what we need. In the movie, The Secret, they talk about "gratitude" rocks. This rock, that you carry around with you all the time to remind you to be grateful for all that happens to you, big or small, from the parking spot by the front door of the mall to the green traffic lights when you are running late for an appointment.

Coincidently, yeah right, last Monday, scientists doing some carbon dating at Stonehenge announced some new theories about the purpose of Stonehenge. They now say that Stonehenge was erected between 2200 and 2400 BC. They believe the rocks have some "magical" healing powers. They believe people came from far and wide to be healed here. They also found some rock "chips" that they assume people took away with them as they are of the same blue rock Stonehenge is made of. I would consider that people visiting Stonehenge were given "Gratitude" rocks. Now that's my theory.

This entry to be continued.... (but you do get some picture)...time to check out of the hotel and hit the road.

...and the story continues (written a few days later)....

At th e church I lit a candle (you can see it next to the statue if you look real hard and know which one it is) and made my "wish" or more so, said a prayer.   I have no preferences. Whether we say a prayer, make a wish, dream it, or just think REAL hard about IT, they are all various forms of doing the same thing. Form and underlying form. Whether we say a prayer to God or a Saint, make a wish upon a star, throw a penny down a wishing well, or put a picture of it on our Vision Board. It really IS all the same.

My accommodations. Hotel Chimene is a B&B style hotel. It is run by and owned by Karine. She's owned the place since May. She has a daughter whose name is Alix or Alex or Alexa. "Alix" had a friend over today whose name was Sophie. Last night I received a text message from my daughter, Alexis, that her and her friend, Sophia, want to come to Los Angeles the next time I go, as birthday gifts, so that they can attend casting calls. They both have birthdays next week and want to be actresses. Remember my other daughter, Katrine? The similarities between these names was intriguing. Karine was extremely nice to me. More so then I believe to most clients. I actually believe she was flirting. Yes, she is divorced. Late 30's, early 40's. Hmm! What if?

I might have stuck around longer to find out if she was flirting or there was some long term potential for that relationship if I was who I use to think I was. But remember, this Expedition is about me finding out how this Law of Attraction really works. I'm getting close to getting what I want/need. We NEED to be clear in what we want and need. I am slowly learning that lesson and each day the "coincidences" keep on occurring more frequently.

I've also decided not to stop in Paris. I had planned on being there for 3 days. But I needed to spend an extra day here and have decided to make 2 night stopovers along the way to Luxembourg instead of the quick, ride and sleep I had planned. I also know there's a reason that I'm not stopping in Paris. It's the same reason I never made it to Los Angeles last spring. Somebody has to be there with me. Alexis came to Hollywood with me in July. She's the Movie Star.

Paris is the city of Love. "Paris, Je t'Aime." The title to a movie I purchased on Valentine's Day during my Journey. Various "short" stories about love in the city of love. What better place to be then with the one you love.
