Where I stayed
Kirsten's Couch!
My back feels great. This is the exact opposite of how it felt yesterday. So why the big change? I needed a reminder. What I didn't mention in yesterday's entry is that once Inga showed me to my room she had to go teach a yoga class. I would have loved to have joined the class but was in too much pain. What it did do was remind me as I got up this morning was to do my own yoga and meditations as I was doing when I was at home before leaving on this Expedition. I slowly stretched out my back muscles and then I felt great all day.
I had found a couch to sleep on for tonight at Kirsten's. The time that she wanted me at her place in Bremen was at 3. Leaving Heide at 9h30 and only having a 3 hour ride I needed to stretch that time. So I went and tried to get lost along the German coastline. I ended up at a beach resort. It was miserable out, but people were still there. After that I meandered through countryside on my way to Bremen, taking 2 ferries, chatting with one couple on one of the ferry's who were touring the area on bicycle with their 2 children.
While waiting at the second ferry I met Karl who was returning home from touring Sweden on his motorcycle. He was returning early as the weather was terrible there. We chatted quite a while as this ferry ride was longer.
I saw so much beauty and unique buildings during this drive, stuff that the majority of tourists do not see of Germany. It was cloudy all day and I had a lot of misty rain. I arrived at Kirsten's at exactly 3.
We chatted for a while then went out for a walk in the neighbourhood where she showed me where the old ship yards were and is now a shopping mall. We also walked along the river and then ended up at an Italian Restaurant for supper in a renovated Fire Hall. We backtracked part of our walk which ended up being through a cemetery. It was getting quite dark and with the mist had that eerie, ghost like setting. We had way more fun in the cemetery than most people think you should. We had a lot of amazing conversation as we have very similar thoughts about life.
I have to move on to a different couch tonight as Kirsten had already promised her couch to someone else for tonight. I'm off to see downtown Bremen.
Life is Amazing! I live a Charmed Life!
Think It! Feel It! Live It!

Surfin'
I'm happy to see these attempts at couch surfing have finally worked. It would be really neat to try that for most of a trip as it would be possible to meet tons of people.
Just finishing up my in-clearance this week and get my books tomorrow, school starts Tuesday. Love you lots.
Nick
You found a couch!
That is so cool that you finally found a couch to surf on :)
I checked out the website after you mentioned it earlier in your posts and thought that it sounded like a really neat way to meet new people and to see the areas in a whole different way! Hopefully you find more couches and many new friends.
