Fun Swiss Fact #1 - Switzerland's official abbreviation is CH which stands for Confoederatio Helvetica, the Latin name for Switzerland.

Our time in Nova Scotia has flown by. With all of my family in one place for an extended period of time we decided to mark the occasion with a photo shoot in January. If you ever need your picture taken in the Halifax area I highly recommend Trevor Allen's studio in Fall River. Despite competing nap & feeding schedules and a few illnesses among his subjects, Trevor managed to snap good photos of everyone and made the process (mostly) enjoyable to boot.

Sophia, Meredith and I kept up our weekly routine of playdates, library programs, music classes, and visits to the coffee shop. Meredith began to make it clear that she wanted some of what Sophia and I were having at the coffee shop so I gave her a small piece of croissant. When I turned my head for a moment she grabbed the rest of the croissant for herself. She was quite pleased with herself...

Meredith hasn't said any conventional sounding words yet, but she does say 'da da' for Andrew, 'na na' for banana, and a variation of the word 'hot' that I can't figure out how to spell phonetically. She LOVES being able to keep up with Sophia and has started running and climbing stairs. Let's just say I think it will be a long flight with her in our arms...

Sophia continues to entertain us with dance & gymnastics moves, songs, and her general insights into the world. She's looking forward to going to Switzerland and told me this morning that she`s teaching Grammie how to speak French. I think she might have her work cut out for her...

We bought ourselves a few going away presents - a Kindle for me and a travel guitar for Andrew. I wasn't sure if I'd like reading on the Kindle, but I do and I especially like the dictionary feature.  Andrew's guitar sounds great and is small enough that we can put it in its case and then fit the case inside my sister`s duffel bag with other things stuffed around it...we'll see if it makes it in one piece.

Really, there's not much to report, but I wanted to send a note before we left Canada.  We'll send another update when we're settled.  Now I'm off to pack what feels like a million bags...
