It was very strange to wake up in the morning and realize I had been sleeping in the Hudson River.
The weather was nice so we had breakfast on the back deck of the Lido. I could see my office building while eating my last pancakes and watermelon and hashbrowns. Drinking my last glass of fresh squeezed orange juice. It was depressing to know that in just a few short hours I would be back at my desk instead of lazing around the Symphony.
Disembarkation did not go as smoothly as I would have hoped. We were told we could leave at 9am, but when we went downstairs, there was a long line. Nobody had been let off yet. So we waited in line for over an hour and eventually walked down to the port authority building and found our bags. Customs was much less painful--the man was very nice and welcomed us back to the US.
Dave had to grab a cab to the airport, and I took one to the train station. It was not easy to maneuver around with my bags, so finally getting home was a major relief. I relaxed for a little while and then walked to work. :(
