Day 35 Crossville Tennessee to Sevierville Tennissee 107.1 miles 5,464 ft climbing

I gotta quit eatin'! I gotta cut the carbs! Stop snackin' on junk.  I'm addicted to Nutter Butter peanut cookies, Payday caramel nut bars, the aptly named Mojo and chocolate milk shakes.  Any thoughts of returning as a Mo Farrar look-alike have gone.  I'm more like the Belarusse shot putter, though hopefully with less facial hair.  I have stuffed, chomped, crammed, scoffed and rammed food down my throat as I pedal my way from coast to coast.  We are burning around 5,000 calories per day - and we're replacing them all.

The trouble is, this is America.  Food portions are gargantuan.  Take tonight's meal.  Our complimentary "appetizers" would be enough - even for a hungry cyclist.  A plateful of fried chicken with 3 different sauces, some spicy sausage thingys and stacks of crisps.  I then have a side salad - another meal in itself - before my "Entree" of rack of ribs and baked potato with butter and sour cream.  Without the punishing cycling schedule, I'd be really piling on the pounds.  Tim with the crazy hair (so crazy, Jim's friend said that you could hide snacks in it!!) says he's put weight on during the trip and I think we have too.  We dine with Sarah and she says her husband did the trip in 2010 and  came home the same weight as when he started.  She also says he was so wrecked he didn't get on his bike for 3 months!   After today's long, hard, windy ride I can understand why.
