Day 34 Nashville to Crossville 125.3 miles 7470 ft climbing

Would you rather
(a) Stay snuggled under the crisp cotton covers of the king sized bed in your luxury hotel, dreaming of a hot foam bath with muscle soothing eucalyptus, peppermint and rosemary bath crystals or maybe a shower with yuan zhi shower gel, followed by a leisurely stroll around town in the sunshine OR
(b) Flog yourself for 125 miles over the rollling hills which our guide notes say "will prove challenging"?

Yeah, me too.  And that's the problem from now until the end.  I''m ready to have a rest from the bike.  I feel I've proved I can suffer!  I've ridden over 2,500 miles.  I'd like to hire a car and drive to Charleston.  But, I can't give up now.  I have to finish the mission! David says we should think of ourselves at Everest's final base camp before an attempt on the summit.  We are three quarters of the way across.  It's like a symphony with 3 movements - unfinished.  It's time for the fourth and final movement - with the grand finale.  So I get out of bed at 5.30 a.m. and ride 125 hilly miles.  We remind ourselves we need to pay attention.  Most accidents happen in the last 7 days.

Keep on riding! You have come so far and you can do this!! One mile at a time and don't forget to enjoy the view. You are nearly there and I am so impressed by the mental and physical fortitude you both have....

Yeah, you will definitely finish it. Especially now you have your super butt cream! As you say, take care now, re the accidents. xx

Hi Chrissie and David - I should have messaged before now but want to say how amazing it is to have got this far - with the end in sight (well not quite in sight). I have been logging onto your Travel blog every few days for updates and am unbelievably impressed by your strength and commitment to completing EFI. Good luck for the next few days and take care, Love Lesley and Roger xx
