Just a quick update tonight. First, Common Ground has been on Nightline the past two evenings. The first was a short bit, but last night's story was seven minutes and is the lead video clip at Nightline's web site. Somehow I missed the film crew both days. I was working with Liz gutting the same church the day before they interviewed her. I also spent two days this week working on Brian Simms' house with the other crew. His BBQ was some of the best I've ever had. Please check it out ASAP because I don't know how long it will be online. If you can't find the clip there, try this one.

Today we picked up and moved our main base of operations 9 blocks NNW. It's partly in preparation for the more than 1000 spring breakers we'll be inundated with in the next two weeks, and partly because it's best to give this church and community center back to their original purposes. The guy in charge of safety equipment supply and decontamination left today, and no one stepped forward to take over the job. Since we can't do much of anything without gear, I jumped into the role this morning and am now somehow in charge of hundreds of boxes of safety equipment I know little about. I worked 14 hours today moving everything and getting it set up at the new St. Mary's site. Then it was back to Pauline St. for one last hot shower and to move my sleeping bag and junk to my new bunk bed.
