Today, I woke up at 9:30am with Meghan to meet up with some of the girls to go shopping. We went to the plaza de santo domingo, which had a lot of amazing stores like Pimkie, H&M (the Euro kind - not American) and Mango. All of the stores had amazing clothes!!!! Jackie, Brittany, Meghan and myself all bought different things and then met up with Jonathan to eat lunch in Retiro Park. The park has amazing gardens and places to sit and enjoy the sun, as well as a beautiful waterfront, complete with boat rides open to the public.

We sat down at a table in the shade to eat our packed lunches, but a man came out from a tiny restaurant hut thing, and told us we couldn't eat our own food there, so Meghan and Jonathan ordered un cafe and a beer. After class tonight, the majority of our group is going to a wine museum, where we are going to learn about how the wine is made. We're all so excited!!

A few days ago on Monday, we took a walking tour of the historic area of Madrid, which included La Plaza del Sol, La Plaza Mayor, and other notable areas of the city. We loved getting on our feet and tackling the city right away!

I'm loving the weather here, because it's just like how it is at home, minus the humidity. I can't get over the fact that all day and all night Meghan and I keep the window in our room wide open, and no birds or any bugs have ever found their way into the room!!!! It boggles my mind because at home the birds and bugs wouldn't even think twice about it. I can't wait to see what the next three and a half weeks have in store for us!!!
