After the tour, we had free time to do anything
. Some of us bought a cellphone to talk to each other. At 3:30pm we went to school for the placement exam, orientation and also the first of our classes. I was a little nervous about the exam, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I was placed into 'La Cultura Espanola' with Julie and Jonathan. Our professor, Javi, is really cool and definitely makes the class interesting. After class we went to the 'Copa de Bienvenida' to celebrate the start of our adventure and also to meet more people from Estudio Sampere.
Now, we are separated but some of us will meet at a place at Sol to have some fun.
We are having a good time here in Madrid but it is only the beginning of our great adventure! I can't wait to see what the rest of the month will bring us.
See you later!

Today was the first day at the school called Estudio Sampere. We meet at eleven o'clock in the morning in front of the school. We walked through Madrid with a woman named Esther. We walked for, more or less two hours. We visited some popular places in Madrid. These included Telecommunications Building, Gran Via, Plaza del Sol, Plaza Mayor and Plaza de Orientes. We learned much about the history of the city and the buildings of Madrid. I really enjoyed the tour; I learned a lot of interesting facts about different things other than Spanish culture. For example, we learned a lot about Mythology through the architectural influence that we saw in many of the buildings here. We also learned the history behind the name 'Nike' and the Nike swoosh! It was really hot outside and many of our feet started to hurt but it was definitely a great tour.
