Day count: 10
State count: 13 (AZ, NM, UT, CO, KS, MO, IL, IN, OH, WV, PA, NJ, NY, CT and MA)
Mileage: 3,445
Intersting things I saw today:
1. Mesa Verde National Park
2. Four Corners Momument
3. Memorial Valley
2. Grand Canyon in the Dark
Continued south to Mesa Verde (learned that's green table in Spanish). Very beautiful views. Apparently a bunch of people used to live here for years untouched in the cracks the mountain cheeks (no butt jokes). Took the short hike and visited one of these ancient cities. Very surreal, but they still had larger apartment rooms then I've had since living in Boston.
Went southwest from there towards the four corners. Kind of cool to stand there. Not cool to watch people do stupid things on the monument. Squatting? Face planting? Seams so plain that I just stood there now.
Drove through memorial valley but didn't stop as I was on a mission to get to the Grand Canyon before dark. No luck. Drove through miles of the park when I got there and saw lots of "scenic view" notifications, but when I stopped, all I could see was a big dark hole in the ground. Next morning was a different story.
