To arrive at Ocho Rios, one must penetrate the mountains that seperate the north and south of the island by dense jungle.

Soon after arriving in Ocho Rios, we put our backpacks on and trotted off to find a cheap hotel. A peace-core worker we met in Kingston drew a little map for us so we could find the non touristy area. We werent walking for very long until we were hit with attention seeking hustlers, comanding more "respect". Thanks to a few people and our patients of walking distances with heavy loads we found our Silver Seas hotel (the oldest hotel in Ocho Rios). It was alot cheaper than Kingston, but still $25 a night. Before we could barely get in our door, we met a bloke which was partying tonight a few doors down from us by himself. We did the honourable Aussie thing to do and offered him company to drink with - us! He was partying a bit hard for us though with blow. So myself and matty said no, and stuck to the booze. His name was Chance, and recently an ex-marine that did a year in Iraq, but discharged after being shot in the collar bone by a 12 year old sniper - with wounds to back up his story.

The night kicked on, Matty and I were on the balcony smoking 1 joint (its Jamaica, so we had too - haha) when there was a knock at the door! We were all thrown into a bit of a panic as there we're lines of coke on the table, the room stunk of smoke and weed was scattered everywhere amongst the beer and vodka. Chance (being his appartment) yelled out trying to find out who it was. It was the bloody hotel security - shit!! I shat myself as I thought we were in trouble and quickly butted out the joint, but Chance had already opened the door and let him in!! ...We were introduced to Clive, the security guard ...the man responsible for providing all these substances for the party, hahaha! So we let him in and gave him a drink. He told us that he could get us anything we wanted, all we had to do was see him... He could even make it so the maids wont come and clean our room the next day! haha - it was too funny!! The night ended up being quite amusing and came to a slow end around 2:30am.

The next day was too hot and I had gained food poisoning again, so my stomach felt very average and I couldnt eat much. We found an internet cafe and chilled in the park for most of the day before coming home to watch a very boring movie.
