Kingston is not impressive what so ever.  A large portion of the city is dangerous and dirty, and looked quite alot like just another American ghetto.  The time I spent here came to serve my initial impression correctly.  America has alot of its fingers in Jamaican economy as we were introduce once more to food chains and expensive hotels.  Jamaica was very expensive and demanding $75AUD a night for poor accomodation, that we reluctantly gave up.  Apart from the Bob Marley museum, demonstrating his achievements and thanks to his loving wife that put all this together in their house so people could visit.  The lady in our hotel was more than willing to help us with information and let us tastetest nearly 100 percent Rum, haha!  But back on the subject, Kingston is nothing special to me.  I keep finding myself gazing up towards the centre of the island at the mountains rising up to the clouds, that seperated the island in two, as a means to escape.  Here in Kingston, I get the uneasy feelings of a divided society between the white collar workers and the hard faced dreadlocked 'rasta-wannabe' type people on the street, trying to command respect from tourists without returning one inch of it.

But...  A big city can not judge the island or the people though, as like all cities, corruption runs rampid throughout the streets.  Well as it seems from my narrow wordly experience...  Maybe I am expecting too much?  For now, I want to leave.
