"No Kangaroo's in Austria" - There are these t-shirts and sign's everywhere and it confused me as immediatly i thought it said Australia - and I can vouch that there are Kangaroo's in Australia as everyone knows, but i didn't cotten on till the last day that it actually said "Austria" not "Australia" - definatly a blonde moment for myself.

Well getting here was quite the task but quite amusing now i look back on it. Vienna has a million and one gallaries and museums here to see, so if your a really art gallary and museum buff this is definatly the place to go. However i think i'll just give 1 or 2 a go :o) Well as i said in the previous entry when we rocked up we were walking around in the pooring rain for an hour and a half looking for our hostel thanks to the poor instructions we got off of the internet. Luckily someone came to our rescue and pointed us in the direction of where we needed to go. We checked in and went for a walk straight away to get something to eat as we hadn't even seen food that day. So we splurged on 10 euro to get a huge schnitty and chips for ourselves. So yum! i was looking forward to this moment. Back to the hostel to get some shut eye, and i can tell you it was the best nights sleep ever! The next morning we walked to the natural history museum which was pretty cool. It had figures there carved from 25,000 years ago, and one from 35,000 years ago. - Neanderthals carved this during the ice age. - CRAZY!!! I can't believe im standing right infront of these figures all these years later. We left the museum hours later and walked around seing the city, and the buildings. It was quite a nice, clean and pretty city i must say. Its similar style to Paris i guess, but alot more well maintained with alot mroe cathedrals and palaces everywhere. It seems like there's one on every block. I'm not gonna bother describing them as there's too many, but you have to see it as they're just so great to look at. The architecture work is amazing.

Back at the hostel a Kiwi and 2 English guys rocked up. All sounded like really nice people and got chatting straight away. We all ended up heading to the main hostel building, as we were in the 2nd building a block away (the dodgier one i must say with no bar in it). The bar and lounge room at the main buliding was quite nice with alot of travelers in there all having a good time. My mate Paul from london (the one that sold me the tickets, however has now sailed across the atlantic to the UK - heh!) he rang me from the MxPx concert and sounded like he was having a blast (absolutely off his nut of course)! Was great hearing a familiar voice for once. I remember having the longest yarn and laugh with this clumbsy English guy about Little Britin sketches haha!

Well we all slept in the next morning to ensure we were feeling the best we could when we actually had to get up. Oh yeah, thanks mr garbage man for the redicuously loud wake up call. Today was yet another day of sight seeing. We went to the art gallary - i dont know how many pictures of jesus and mary i have seen but it would have to be around 1000, and they all look the same). Out from this we ended up just wondering the streets without even looking at the map! Ofcourse we were completley lost by the end of the day and was exact opposite side of the city to our hostel! heh, well we got to see alot of wonderful places in this city which was great. Its currently 9pm writing this paper journal and everyone in this dorm is asleep already, so i'll head to the bar to see who's around.

Ok im back... 20 minutes later... no beer for me, the washing machine is free for the first time in ages and i'm really pushing the line as to how many time i can wear the same clothes. Richard - the guy's house above the reptile shop gave me a good indication of how to know when its time to change your shirt. If you throw it against the wall and it doesnt stick - its still alright to wear :oP After getting our washing done, we opened the door... originally we didnt think it was our washing, but it was alright. - Everything was blue! all my white sox, were blue, danielle's bathers - blue! God damn Amsterdam top that i bought was its first wash! BUGGER!!

Vienna (Wien) is great, the streets are white, the buildings are very clean and there's a really safe and good feeling about this city. It may seem cleche - but it gives a poetic feel about it...

Ok boys are up! - pub time !!!
