Leaving Interlaken was sad. I'll miss that place - but its one place i have promised to return to one day...

The next destination was Nice, southern France. The train stopped at a place called Speiz along side Lake Thun, where we had to get off and change trains, however once out of the train station i walked out side and as the station was up on the side of a moutain, i could see down over the lake, with a little village by its side. It looks so beautiful. So i told dan i'd be back in a few hours and headed on down. The air was crisp, the sky was clear with the sun shining on my back, the rolling hills with crops on them surrounding the town. Stumbling down the hill towards Spiez's harbour was cool as the houses are really interesting as they all looked like wooden cabins. Once in the harbour i walked into the middle to take some pictures and be surrounded by all these little yachts, with the huge mountain's reaching far in the sky surrounding me. Everywhere i went there were beautiful wooden cabins with traditional style roofs and flowers hanging over the balcony making it very bright with colours, all reflecting off a crystal clear lake. I went to the end of the walk way. I sat there for a while taking it all in with a smile. All though i scared the hell out of myself, as i decided to go right to the lake front and lay down over the edge of this wooden plank to reach down to cup the water in my hand to have a drink, and as i had my entire backpack on i nearly tipped head over heals in... and wearing that i wouldn't of exactly floated haha :o)

A few hours had passed and the sun was still bearing down on my head, i walk througout the town a bit more and at the surrounding mountains all around before heading back up to meet my connecting train (if it hadn't come and gone heh!).

This is my last stop in Switzerland - i'll definatly miss it!!! BY FAR it has been the most beautiful country i have ever seen. I leave with the nostalgic, yet satisfied thought of its only a matter of time before i will return to this country. I have by far not finished with this little place on the globe.

Widerluege (good bye)
