Prague has been pretty descent so far. When i first got off the train and walked around the area where i was gonna stay, it gave a very 'dodgy' feeling, as i think that part of town was, but i refused to let any first experience make up my mind of the place. After rocking up to the hostel and meeting our dorm mate Kasia, who is from Poland, but currently studying in New York, we were yaking our heads off straight away. Unfortunatly we had found out that she had her watch stolen right off her wrist before she even made it to the hostel!

It was early evening so us 3 got some got some local advice from the girl that runs the hostel and headed out to some pub for tea and drinks. That night we had a great time and were laughing pretty much all night. Kasia was very talkative and quite funny which is great! I had a Chicken Schnitzel, chips, salad and about 6 big pints of beers for round 350CZK (which is about $15 Australian dollars) and this would have to be the cheapest meal i've ever ate! You'd be paying near $40 for that back in Oz. Twas getting late so we wondered the streets a bit to see the city at night before heading home. The city was so pretty, and looked pretty sweet wondering across Charles bridge late at night with the city lights behind and infront of us. The city was build in the 1300's, so no wonder it has a gothic feel to it. Fortunatly the city was not destroyed in World War 2 due to the Czech waving the white flag, but this has resulted in these beautiful structures standing still in their original form that we can see today.

The next day we rose our weary heads and headed to this church dedicated to St Nicholas. It was so old and beautiufl inside. Had so many huge gold statues, and was nice to sit down just taking it all up for a while. We left and headed to the castle and it is honestly alot bigger than it looks, so it took a while wondering around seeing it all. From spring to autum it gets parts restored so some areas had construction on it, but wasn't too much so thats ok. The castle had parts still on it from the 1100's! Crazy to think Kings once dinned and walked around right where i now was standing. From this we headed to the castle's top point, which winded around and around and around, and seemed to be walking up in circles forever. It didn't have to much room in there, with little ventalation, so you can imagine what it smelled like! :o\ We arrived up the top, and from this you could see the entire of Prague and its a really good looking city i must say with nearly every building consisting of a red roof. But time to head back down the stairs! I'd love to chuck a ball down there when its empty and time how long it would take to reach the bottom!

We walked around through the west side of the river part of the city to Charle's bridge again to see it in the daylight, and its even better than at night. You can see right down the river with all the gothic buildings lining the banks. Quite a site, and you'd definatly have to be here to see it... We kept walking exploring the city more during the day, having lunch, do a bit of shopping. haha we went to this 'chicks shop' for danielle, and it was hillarious to see all the guys either 1. moping around following their partners or 2. Found some place that resembles something to sit on and just blankly staring! haha, i was one of the lucky ones to find a seat. A bit more site seing for this city, and its pretty easy to loose your position on a map if your not taking note, because none of the streets are right angles to one another, they're all off in random directions! Imagine wondering these drunk!
