Here we find ourselve's in Munich (or "Muchen" as its actually spelt) and what better to write this entry other than on a... yep a train (to Neuschwanstein castle that will be in my next entry). When we first rocked up in Munich it was late arvo and for the first time the weather is descent upon an arrival at a place - nearly all the time its raining when we first get somewhere which is a bummer - but things must be looking up now :o) We went straight to our hotel and put our packs down off of our backs. Then went for a walk to the main area which is about 10 minutes from where we are. We found some amazing old churches pretty much straight away and as per usual in Europe, they were bloody huge. We went in one to look around... and yep its a church :o) Well we're starved for some food, and a beer so we went off walking and soon enough found a descent German pub to sit down at. Well we ordered a couple of beers and had a bit of a chat to the waitress that sat down for a while. From this we just had a bit more of a walk around the area before heading back to get some shut eye (sleep).

The next morning we were up early and had a sick (as in good) as breakfast from what they provided. 3 table's loaded up with every breakfast food you can think of. We then headed off to the Munich Residence. This place was bigger than i thought. The building had so many rooms. Most decorated as a king would see fit and the good thing about it is they'd restored it beautifully. Its sad that it had to be restored, but they did a good job, and the 'antiaquarium' was very descent. It was a hallway with so many arch's with paintings in them and statue's going all the way down to the end (about 40m). Maximilian had this constructed. After a few hours here the weather was still pretty good so we trecked across town to the Deutches Museum. This i liked alot, as it had so many interesting technology evolution exhibits. Including the Wright Brothers Plane which was great to see, however i have no idea how that thing fly's, and wouldnt wanna be the one to test it. To my satisfaction there was ALOT of Astronomy informaiton and stuff there to interact with - as i love astronomy. It had like 5 or 6 huge level's to this building full of evolutions of technology throughout time. Right up the top we discovered there was a planetarium which would of been great to go in, but you have to buy the tickets on ground level... No way was i walking all the way back up, so i'll give this one a miss - i already went to the london one.

These 2 things took up pretty much all day so we went to a supermarket and stocked up on booze and some food to eat back at camp. We got drunk and watched animal planet, CNN and soccer. Was a good night and i went to sleep with my earphone's blaring. - I love falling asleep listening to music wondering where i'll be the next day :o)
