At long last we made it to Yosemite National Park! It's pretty much a mecca for climbers so I've been somewhat looking forward to it. The first stop we made was at a beautifully clear lake, the mountains around reaching to a perfectly blue sky. It was stunning!

As we drove further into the park we got our first glimpses of Yosemite Valley itself, containing El Capitan (a 3000ft granite cliff, perhaps the most famous climbing location) and Half Dome, quite literally a dome mountain carved in half by a glacier. The granite cliffs and mountains climbing out of a green canopy of trees filling the valley.

We went for a short hike and got to see Giant Redwood trees (sequioia) which were absolutely spectacular, so huge round and they reached far above the other trees around them. Another life long dream fulfilled :)

Set up camp next to another sunset group and revelled in the fact that, since we were in Yosemite for two nights, we wouldn't have to pack up again in the morning! Amazing how much you appreciate that sorta thing...

On our second day in Yosemite Scott dropped us off at Glacier point view point, the weather was perfect and the views of Yosemite valley were stunning. We then took the rest of the day to follow a few trails down past a few waterfalls and into the valley itself. Managed to swing free showers at the bottom which was a real bonus!! (Should point out here, campsites in national parks rarely have amenities like showers or hot water!)

Unfortunately we had to leave Yosemite the next morning, it was onto Napa Valley to do some wine tasting, may have got carried away and got a bottle...it was pretty tasty stuff though! Found another run of the mill campsite with pool, hot tub, cinema room (with the biggest damn tv I've ever seen!) and games room...I've really gotten used to this! This was the last night on the tour so kinda sad about that, but very excited to cross the Golden Gate Bridge and start exploring San Francisco as well...
