Where I stayed
Bayside RV Park
Yesterday we continued heading north, past San Francisco (we have visited there previously), and through the Napa Valley with its miles and miles of vineyards. We camped overnight in Redwood Valley, at the Golden Rule RV Park, alongside Ridgewood Ranch, home of Seabiscuit.
We took a ride into Willits to see the Skunk Train, but unfortunately it only runs from Willits in the summer. We did consider staying another night and visiting Fort Bragg to ride the train, but at $70 each it was a bit expensive.
Today we continued on, driving through the Redwoods along the 101 - a road that goes up and down, and round and round, and gets really narrow between some of the trees! For much of the day the road followed the Eel River until it reached the Pacific coastline.
We are camped at Bayside RV Park, in what appears to be a car park. Still, it's right beside the sea and instead of listening to trains we get to listen to the lighthouse and the seals.
